“The Divine Inside” CD of Songs
Inspired by the book
“How To Find God In Everything”
Music by Kavi Jezzie Hockaday
Words by Kavi Jezzie Hockaday and Amoda Maa Jeevan
When Amoda asked me to write some songs inspired by her book “How To Find God In Everything”, I was thrilled. But the actual process of creating this CD was much more amazing than I had imagined.
I know the book very well, as I have been a part of its conception and birth. I have wanted to use it as a basis for music and I have been writing songs about The Beloved for quite some time. But I have never been satisfied with the results.
The 3 weeks of creating this CD have taken me deeply into myself. I was doing a 21-day process of inviting the Beloved into myself and I was rising at 4.30 am to meditate, walk in nature and write in my journal for 3 hours before starting work. I asked a lot of questions and I have invited the Divine inside to guide me in all I do and to take control of my life. Initially I had the usual creative ups and downs and it was a bit of a struggle trying to work out how to create the songs and which ones to choose from the many ideas I had.
But slowly what emerged was that the Beloved was filtering out everything that was not directly about the Divine! Anything that was negative, had a hint of ego or was not the right frequency had to go in the bin. After a while, I was left with 10 songs that all had the flavour and fragrance of the Beloved. And I felt as though I was a vehicle for that expression. I was overjoyed.

On the final day of my 21-day process I sat at 5am and presented the Inner Beloved, with the CD of these 10 songs as an act of deep gratitude. It is my gift to the Divine that lives inside me as me. I am always offering God my pain, my wounds and my trouble. But this time I have my act of beauty - created through me by the Beloved - to offer back to the Beloved. And I offer it to you in the same way. You are the Beloved.
I hope you can hear it with the same openness of your blazing heart. And, that for one moment, you can taste the exquisite fragrance of the Garden of the Beloved. And in that moment you remember your own beautiful nature … and you feel at home.
Love and blessings,
